Cody Montgomery

Gillette College Foundation’s Scholar Spotlight!

Meet Cody Montgomery, recipient of the Opportunities for Excellence Endowment through the Gillette College Foundation.

Cody comes from Evanston, Wyoming.  He loves football, particularly the Washington Redskins, has an 11 year old daughter, and aspires to be an astronomer.  He is majoring in biology with Gillette College, and plans to transfer to the University of Wyoming to complete his degree in astronomy at the end of the summer.  In the next 10 years, he sees himself looking at the sky through a telescope, possibly with a PHD in physics or astronomy under his belt by then.

The scholarship Cody received has allowed him to work less and concentrate on school more.  In his time with Gillette College, he has learned about time management, self-discipline, and has greatly matured as a person.  His words of advice to other students include, “Use your time wisely.  Work ahead.  Go to class and be present while you’re there.  If you do this, you’ll get it.”

Cody’s favorite thing about being a Gillette College student is progressing in life and knowing he is giving himself a future and an opportunity to move forward.  He also has really enjoyed the people and the good friends he has made along the way.

Thank you for being our Scholar Spotlight, Cody Montgomery.  We are proud of you!
