Evan Schliske

Gillette College Foundation’s Scholar Spotlight!

Meet Evan Schliske, recipient of two Gillette College Foundation Scholarships:  the Mary Alice Logue Endowment Scholarship and the GC Directors and Trustees Endowed Scholarship.

Evan is a 19 year old Gillette native who enjoys spending time with family and friends.  He is obtaining his generals at Gillette College and plans on transferring to the University of Wyoming afterwards.  In the next 10 years, he sees himself with a stable job, though the career path itself is still being paved.

The scholarships Evan received have paid for his education so he has only had to buy books.  In his time with Gillette College, he feels he is getting good experience with the “basics” before it gets “really hard” at a four-year university.  His words of advice for other students is to apply for as many scholarships as you can.  “I’m so glad I did that,” he said.

Evan’s favorite thing about being a Pronghorn is the community feel and the “friendly, understanding professors.”

Thank you for being this week’s Scholar Spotlight, Evan Schliske!
