Introducing, Heidi Gross, Executive Director of the Gillette College Foundation!
Heidi has two children, Andrew and Molly, as well as two grandchildren, Atticus, age 4, and Rowyn, 19 months. She has been a member of the Gillette Chamber Singers since 2005, is president of the Campbell County Republican Women, belongs to the evening Rotary Chapter, the Energizers, PEO, sings in the Collegiate Choir and graduated from Leadership Wyoming in May 2019. She is a fitness junkie, loves to read, attend her grandson’s t-ball games and golfs on occasion. She was born and raised in Aberdeen, South Dakota and lived in Sioux Falls for five years before moving to Gillette in September 1989.
Heidi joined the Gillette College Foundation (GCF) in January 2014. She accepted the position because she is passionate about higher education and the importance of having a college in our community. Her favorite GCF event is the Scholarship Dinner, though she loves them all! Scholarship Dinner allows the donors and/or representatives of the scholarship to be recognized while allowing Gillette College students a chance to meet them. “It is a great event,” she said.
When asked what advice Heidi had for our students, she said, “Work hard, take things one day at a time. Don’t let yourself become overwhelmed and remember to keep your goals in front of you.”
Heidi’s favorite thing about Gillette College is the students. “It gives me great pleasure to know that the work I do helps so many people, which in turn helps our community. We do great things here!” Heidi also really enjoys working with the board members. “They are great people and I am blessed to be a part of such a great organization."
Thank you, Heidi, for your devotion to the Gillette College Foundation and education in our community!
